Purchasing NFTs

Opensea / Marketplaces

Opensea is the largest and most mainstream NFT marketplace. Essentially opensea is the ebay of NFTs. You can purchase NFTs directly from creators, or other users who are looking to sell their NFTs they have purchased.

You will require an Opensea account to purchase your NFTs, you can login with metamask and connect your wallet directly to opensea. You will see a popup from your metamask extension alerting you that you will be connecting your wallet.

Open sea will sync any NFTs you have on your wallet to your account for you to sell.

Creator Websites

Creator websites are the most common way to purchase / mint your own NFT from them. These websites generate random NFT attributes unlike any others, essentially making your NFT 1 of 1. For example we will use the website PoshPandas.

Posh pandas is a creator website, where you can go to, and mint your own PoshPanda. These pandas each have different attributes and are randomly generated once you Mint your own panda.

Creator websites are all very similar, they all have a roadmap, plans and marketing strategies show on them. This is what you want to look for when you are deciding whether you want to buy a NFT to sell later on. A NFT with a strong marketing team and roadmap has a higher chance of not flopping in the future.

What is the purpose of a creator website?

  • Creator websites can limit the amount of their NFT they want to mint

  • They can introduce limited drops / create demand on their NFT

  • Allows uniquely generated NFTs to be created based on their NFT smart contracts

Minting on a Creator website

1) Visit the creator website when it's drop time

You will need to connect you metamask on the next page, where you can then mint your NFT.

After minting your NFT you will need to wait afew minutes for the transaction to complete, and your NFT to show in your account. You can view your NFT on opensea or any marketplace.
