# Adding Funds to your Wallets
## Why are funds required?
* Funds are required in your MetaMask wallet / other crypto wallets in order to buy from the marketplaces or creator websites.
* Funds are usually stored in ETH as this is what NFTs typically use to store their data.
## Adding funds to Metamask DIRECTLY
1. Adding funds to metamask is pretty plain and simple. On your metamask extension select the buy button to begin adding funds.
2. Select "Continue to Wyre" to add funds from your debit card
3. Input the amount you would like to purchase, and complete payment
4. ETH is now stored in your metamask / cryto wallets.
## Purchasing ETH on Coinbase & Transferring to Metamask
You may want to purchase ETH from another cyrpto website to purchase with less fees involved. Metamask can be quite expensive when purchasing ETH so it is recommended to purchase on coinbase and transfer in your funds to your metamask wallet.
Sign up for Coinbase her:
1. Purchase ETH by visiting
2. Input the amount you want to purchase and complete payment
### Transferring to MetaMask
You will need to transfer your ETH to metamask in order to use it on NFT websites.
On the coinbase website at the top right, select **send / receive.** You will need to have the metamask address ready for this transaction.
You can copy your Metamask address by selecting the extension and clicking on your wallet name. This will copy the address to your clipboard and you can input this in Coinbase.
Complete the transfer, it will show up in a matter of minutes.

Make sure the metamask wallet that you are sending to is 100% correct. Any incorrect transfers will be lost and you will lose your money.
